Mr. Philip Akinola was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of First Insurance Brokers Limited on July 21, 2025. He brings to the board his vast human resources and strong leadership experience spanning three decades

He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Philronk Facility Management Company. Prior to this, he had a distinguished career at Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited (2002–2024), where he rose from Human Resources and Administration Manager to Group Head, Human Resources and Administration in 2011, an Executive Management position he held until 2024. He served as Non- Executive Director with Forte Oil PLC (formerly Africa Petroleum) from 2012 to 2016, during which he was enrolled on the Premium Board list of The Nigerian Exchange Group.

Mr. Akinola began his professional journey after completing the National Youth Service Scheme in 1988 at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Ogun State. He later joined Management Plus Limited as Principal Consultant (1990–1997) and subsequently moved to SCG Consulting, an international consulting firm specializing in organizational development and human resources management, where he served as Associate Director Human Resources. br/>
An alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a Master’s degree in Industrial Sociology. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Industrial Sociology at the University of Lagos. To complement his academic achievements, he has attended several executive leadership programs, including the EuroMoney “Improving Board Effectiveness” training in New York (2013).

Mr. Akinola is a respected member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), Nigerian Institute for Training and Development (MNITAD), and the Institute of Facility Management of Nigeria.

Beyond his corporate and academic pursuits, he is an ordained Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He is happily married with children and enjoys playing badminton and table tennis in his leisure time.
