Mr. Taiwo Lateef is a seasoned finance professional with more than 15 years of experience across the insurance, agriculture, manufacturing, and travel sectors. In his role as Chief Financial Officer of First Insurance Brokers Limited, he is responsible for driving the organization’s financial direction and supporting efficient business operations.
He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), and is currently enrolled in an MBA programme at the University of Lagos. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Ondo State Polytechnic, obtained in 2008 with an Upper Credit classification.
Mr. Taiwo commenced his professional career in 2005 at New Line Insurance Company, now known as Sterling Assurance Plc. He subsequently worked as Finance Manager at Qiblah International Services Limited between 2010 and 2013, and later as a Treasury Officer at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in Ibadan.
He joined First Insurance Brokers Limited in May 2013 and progressed steadily through various roles, attaining a managerial position by 2019. His strong performance and financial leadership led to his appointment as Chief Financial Officer, where he oversees budgeting processes, expenditure management, and the development of financial policies.
His professional strengths include strategic financial planning, budgeting, cost control, expense management, financial policy formulation, and managing financial operations across diverse industries.
Mr. Taiwo has undertaken several specialized trainings in professional management, financial modelling, financial services costing, budgeting, and forecasting. He has also participated in executive leadership programmes focused on enhancing profitability through strategic financial management and cost efficiency. He is an alumnus of Lagos Business School.
In recognition of his exceptional performance and leadership, Mr. Taiwo received the Best Employee of the Year Award in both 2020 and 2021, and was also honored with the FIB Role Model Award in 2025.
